Halloween

Am not really sure what the day will hold for me today, but glad to have a job working with students. Although the day-in/day-out grind can get unbearable at times, I'm thankful to be here.

Day Two and Searching

Wow! Not sure what I was hoping for by naming this blog rise up and be thankful. In the back of my mind I'm sure I was emulating Oprah and her grateful journals. You know the ones where you write down three things each day that you're grateful for. The intent was to find minute peace in your surroundings. Perhaps I'm making a mistake by posting after having 21 students who really are not concerned about graduating. It makes me tired.

But I continue to search. I search for peace. I search for contentment. I look inward. Somedays it's there and somedays it isn't. But I continue to try to be a better daughter, teacher, person. Somedays it's just harder than others. Today is one of those hard ones.

It's Monday

It's Monday. I hadn't planned on starting the blog on a Monday because, well frankly, it's hard to be thankful on Mondays. Today has been one of those Mondays. It started out with driving to work in the fog. Since moving back to my home state, I now drive 30 miles to work. Needless to say, I was not prepared for the slower commute this morning.

But this Monday morning, I can be thankful for the much needed rain we received over the weekend. It was desperately needed! Plus, OU beat TX...now that's always a good day when that happens!

My attitude always needs adjusting...today it needs a tune-up!

Saw this on Facebook...a requote from someone who saw it on Pinterest...I must play around on that web site. I hear so many wonderful things about it yet I wasn't too impressed the one and only time I got on it. Must remember to check it out on a day when I have time to really "play" on it!
